Shipping & Preorder Policy — Shelf Indulgence
At Shelf Indulgence, we are committed to processing and shipping orders as efficiently and transparently as possible. Please review the information below to understand our fulfillment timelines and preorder policies.
Processing Times
In-stock items:
Orders are typically processed and shipped within 2–4 business days.
Peak periods (holidays, major releases):
Processing times may extend to 3–6 business days.
Processing time refers to the time required to prepare your order before it is handed off to the shipping carrier.
Shipping Timelines
Shipping timelines are separate from processing times and vary based on the shipping method selected at checkout. Once your order ships, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information.
Preorder Policy
Placing a preorder does not mean the book is immediately available or ships on the day the order is placed.
A preorder secures your copy and reserves inventory for you once the publisher releases and ships the book to our store.
If your order contains multiple preorder items with different release dates, your entire order will ship once the final preorder item in that order has been released and received by us.
For example, if your order includes:
- One preorder releasing March 6, and
- One preorder releasing March 30,
Your order will ship closer to March 30, once all items are available to ship together.
We are unable to split shipments for preorder orders unless otherwise stated or purchased as separate orders. If you would like items to ship as they become available, we recommend placing separate orders for each preorder.
All preorder sales are final.
Preorders cannot be canceled, refunded, or modified once placed.
The only exception to this policy is in the event of unforeseen circumstances outside of our control, such as a publisher or printer delay, cancellation, or failure to deliver inventory. In such cases, customers will be notified and an appropriate resolution (refund or store credit) will be provided.
If an order contains both preorder and in-stock items, the entire order may ship together once all items are available. To receive in-stock items sooner, please place separate orders.
Local Pickup
For orders placed with In-Store Pickup, customers will receive an email notification once their order is ready. Please wait for this confirmation before arriving, as orders may not be prepared prior to notification.
Orders must be picked up within 14 business days of the pickup confirmation email, unless prior arrangements have been made with the store. If an order is not picked up within this timeframe and no extension has been approved, the order will be refunded and the items returned to inventory.
This policy is effective as of November 4, 2025, and is in place due to a high volume of orders remaining unclaimed for extended periods.
Lost, Delayed, or Damaged Shipments
Once an order has been transferred to the shipping carrier (USPS, UPS, or others), shipping delays are outside of our control. If a package is lost or arrives damaged, please contact us so we can assist with filing a claim and determining next steps.
Address Accuracy
Customers are responsible for providing accurate and complete shipping information at checkout. Shelf Indulgence is not responsible for delays, losses, or returned packages due to incorrect or incomplete addresses.
